Syntel Becomes Title Sponsor of Michigan's Top50 Junior Golf Tour

TROY, Mich. – August 4, 2006 – Syntel (NASDAQ: SYNT), a leading information technology solutions company, announced today that has signed on as the corporate title sponsor for the Michigan Top 50 Junior Tour.

This non-profit organization provides a competitive golfing experience exclusively for junior golfers ages 11-19 in Michigan. The primary goal of this student golf program is to provide numerous competitive playing opportunities and scholarship awards to several deserving Michigan Junior Golfers who have the desire to attend college. The tour is designed to encourage and enhance the playing ability of Michigan's Junior Golfers while at the same time recognizing and awarding hundreds of Michigan's Junior Golfers. Points toward scholarship dollars are earned through rankings on the tour, grade point average, community service/activity, and entry essays.

"Syntel is proud to support the Top50 Junior Tour as it provides an outstanding opportunity to foster competition, as well as enable young players to earn scholarship dollars toward college," said Syntel Chairman and CEO Bharat Desai. "One of the most important attributes of the program, in our view, is the fact that the tour rewards achievements both in the classroom as well as on the course."

Top junior players from the Southeast, Central and Western Michigan regionals will compete for top honors on August 7, 2006 at Flushing Valley Country Club, in Flushing, Michigan.

"Thanks to the support of great organizations like Syntel, we can continue to enable thousands of promising young people in the state of Michigan to work toward a brighter future," said Dan Thomas, Michigan Top50 Junior Tour Director and PGA golf professional. "Syntel's active participation in the tour will be a great boost to our program."

New this year to the tour is the support of Comcast, which has signed on to broadcast the Michigan Top50jrTour State Championship at least four times between August 15-November 15, 2006.
