Sponsor Information

The pieces are coming together...

But something is missing...
...and we could use your help!

Who are we and what do we do?

We are the National Golf Scholarship Association. The National Golf Scholarship Association (NGSA) is a non-profit corporation founded with the purpose of providing college scholarship awards to Students. We believe that the golf course is a great place for young people to learn the values of respect, integrity and responsibility. In no other sport is honesty and respect for your fellow competitor and the game itself such an integral part of the game. We feel that individuals, who exhibit these qualities on the golf course, will carry these attributes over into their educational and professional careers. The National Golf Scholarship Association continues to sponsor golf programs that enhance personal knowledge and achievement through junior golf including, the Midwest Top50jrTour, the NGSA Skills Challenge, the Ford Senior Championship Clinic, junior golf and coach's clinics, and golf employment opportunities for students.

How are we unique?
Our goal is to provide more opportunities for students than any other junior golf program, and we are well on our way to accomplishing this goal. The Top50jrTour is a unique grassroots youth golf program for boys and girls age 11-19, aimed at increasing student participation in golf. In 2009 we will provide Midwest students with over 110 events across the midwest and over 2000 free rounds of competitive tournament golf. Since 2003 the Top50jrTour has provided over 2400 FREE rounds of competitive tournament golf and over $50,000 in scholarships.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of the student's grade point average, participation in our Top50jrTour tournament program, playing ability, essays, rules of golf exams, community service and sportsmanship. No other junior golf program provides more opportunities for its student participants than the Michigan Top50jrTour. In 2006 the Top50jrTour provided scholarship points to 31% of its members.

Why do we need your help?
As a non-profit organization, the NGSA's goal is to provide scholarship opportunities for as many participants in our student golf programs as possible. We have experienced tremendous growth in participation in our programs. Our ability to increase the number and amount of awarded scholarships is dependent upon our ability to find individuals and businesses that believe in our philosophy and would like to become a part of the NGSA family.

How can you help?

By being a sponsor
We encourage anyone, individuals and corporations, who are interested in sponsorship to consider the NGSA. This can be in the form of donations of equipment, office supplies, time, facilities or financially. Any and all forms of sponsorship would be greatly appreciated. You can be certain that we at the National Golf Scholarship Association, as well as our participating students who will be receiving the scholarship awards will be very grateful for your generous support.

By being a volunteer
If you are able to donate your time and skills, we certainly would like to welcome you as a part of our volunteer team. This could include registering players, scoring at tournaments, updating our web site, helping with press releases, finding sponsors, writing and editing our literature and flyers and helping us to contact potential players and coaches. Or, anything else that you can think of that will help increase participation and spread the word about our student golf program.

Benefits of sponsorship
Becoming a sponsor of the NGSA is a rewarding experience. In addition to promoting educational opportunities for Michigan students you are also fostering respect, responsibility, and integrity in our youth participants. We will work with you to develop a sponsorship program that is best suited to you, your company or your organization.

We recognize that sponsors require a unique marketing strategy that is specific to their target market. We will tailor a sponsorship program that suits your personal sponsorship goals. This could include television commercials, web site banners and links, usage of your name on our mailings and promotional items, tour signage - the possibilities are limitless, let's discuss the details.

We can't do this without you!
