Top50jrTour Members,
The first qualifying round of the season got us off to
a wet start. This
is the first rain out we have had since the inception of the Top50jrTour,
some 40+ events without a rain out. We did have one nine hole tournament
last year, but completed every round.
Because of the eminent weather forecast the Top50jrTour Officials gathered
for a meeting and made a new rules decision during the qualifying round at
Mystic Creek. Instead of canceling the tournament round per the
original
rules of the Top50jrTour we decided that we would blind draw 50 students to
play in the Tournament Round. These 50 students will be eligible for
scholarship points as they would be if they qualified by
playing. However, to maintain the equity of the Michigan Top50jrTour
these students will not be eligible for "player of the year points" since
the students qualifying for the tournament round were determined by the
luck of the draw and this may lead to an unfair advantage.
As always the Top50jrTour continues to make rules decisions that provide
for maximum student golf participation and compete fairness for all of its
members. |
