The Michigan Top50 TourZone Cup

The Top50jrTour continues to create new and exciting golf opportunities for Michigan students. We are introducing a new competitive tournament format that we feel is fitting for the fall season and provides students with the opportunity to be a part of a team in a competitive environment which will foster new relationships with players from other schools in the state. Introducing the TOP50 TOURZONE CUP.

After a long summer season of numerous competitive tournaments the Top50jrTour is providing students the opportunity to continue to play tournament golf while enjoying other competitive and fun tournament formats. We hope Top50jrTour members will participate, bring a friend, and enjoy the exciting new fall team competition.

Qualifying Rounds:

  • A student may play in as many qualifying rounds as they wish. Qualifying rounds are limited to 76 players, first come first serve basis. You must register by EMAIL, (tourdirector@top50jrtour.com).  You must provide your full name, your partner's full name (for team events), the name of the golf course for each QR, and your division.  You will receive an email  acknowledgement if you have been successfully registered.   Payment is made at the QR registration table.
  • The entry fee per qualifying round is $50. Open to current members and new members. No Membership Fee is Required for the fall competition, bring a friend.
  • Students competing in team competitions must have a partner that is in the same age division, however boys and girls may participate on the same team.
  • There are only two divisions, 15 & younger / 16 & older. Boys and girls will be competing together, with forward tees set for the girls to balance the playing field.
  • Students will be competing for Twenty (20) qualifying positions in each TourZone. These 20 players will represent your TourZone at the Final Match and a chance to win the TOP50 TOURZONE CUP.

Qualifying format schedule:

  • First QR in each TourZone – 2 Person Alternating Shot (front) / Scramble (back)
  • Second QR in each TourZone – Individual Stroke play
  • Third QR in each TourZone – 2 Person Best Ball (front) / Scramble (back)
  • Fourth QR in each TourZone – Individual Stroke Play
  • Final Match - TOP50 TOURZONE CUP

Tourzone cup teams: (20 students each TourZone team)

  • (12) Students.   Each Qualifying Round winner will qualify for the TourZone Cup Team.  This includes individual and team winners from each division. 
  • (6+) Students.  Utilizing the Top50jrTour Tournament Point System, six or more students with the most tournament points that have not won a Qualifying Round will qualify for the TourZone Cup Team
  • (2) Students.  The Captain’s Pick.  Two students will be selected by the Team Captain (TourZone Director) to be a member of the TourZone Cup Team.

Final match 2008 - top50 tourzone cup:

  • The format will consist of ( 10 ) Two Person Teams competing by playing six holes alternating shot, six holes best ball, and six holes scramble for an accumulative two person team score.  
  • Each Top50 TourZone Cup Team’s final score will consist of the best six ( 6 ) two person team accumulative scores to determine the champion.

Eligibility

Any students between the ages of 12 and 18 are eligible to play fall ball with the Top50jrTour.  There will be two age divisions, including 16 & older and 15 & younger.

Caddies and Spectators

We encourage parent participation and welcome parents to caddie. However, if you are a caddie you must carry the golf clubs and all USGA rules regarding the player’s equipment and caddie apply. If you are a spectator you must not communicate with the player in a way that assists in playing decisions. You are either a caddie or a spectator; you can't be both.

Scholarship Points

Scholarship points will be awarded at QR's & at the Top50 TourZone Cup.
