Policy / Rules
TOP (50) QUALIFYING PLAYERS:
The "top 50" qualifiers refers to (50) total students. If the qualifying
field consists of 60 boys and 40
girls the "top 50" would consist of (10) exempt players from the previous tournament
round, the best (25) boys, the best (15) girls, with at least three students
from each age division. The number of qualifying boys vs. girls can vary and
will be determined by a percentage of the participants in any given qualifying
round with final discretion of the tournament director. Small Field Exception:
If the qualifying field is less than 50 players, all qualifying round participants
qualify to play in the tournament round for FREE.
Top (10) exemption Invitation for Tournament Round:
The "top ten" refers to (10) total students and includes:
1.) At least one student from each age division
2.) then, the remaining exemptions are reserved for the lowest scores by division
as a percentage of the field, regardless of age division. Example, if a qualifying
field of students is comprised of 60 boys and 40 girls, 60% of the "top
10"
will be boys and 40% will be girls.
3.) Small field exception: If a tournament round consists
of 15 players or less, only the winner in each age group is exempt for the
next tournament round, (total 4 players). If a tournament round consists of between 16 - 24 players, only the winner and runner up in both boys divisions, and the winner in both girls divisions become exempt for the next tournament round, (total 6 players). If a tournament round consists of 25 to 40 players, only the winner and runner up in both boys divisions, and the girls divisions become exempt for the next tournament round (total 8 players).
4.) The Top 10 Exemption Invitation is limited only to the next Tournament
Round. The Top 10 from Tournament Round #1 are exempt from qualifying at
Qualifying Round #2 and advance directly to Tournament Round #2 at no cost.
Due to the format of the Top50jrTour, the exemption is only valid for the very
next Tournament Round because (10) new students will earn the exemption at
the next tournament.
Caddies & spectators:
We encourage parent participation and welcome parents to caddie. However,
if you are a caddie you must carry the golf clubs and all USGA rules regarding
the players equipment and caddie apply. If you are a spectator you must not
communicate with the player in a way that assists in playing decisions. You
are either a caddie or a spectator; you can't be both.
Awards & scholarship points:
Awards are presented for each division at the conclusion of each tournament
round. The Top50jrTour reserves
the right to alter the disbursement of scholarship points per tournament round,
based upon the total number of participants and the number of players per event
in each age or gender
division. Tournament results and awarded scholarship points are posted to the
web site within 24 hours of the tournament.
Inclement weather:
When weather conditions are expected to become dangerous a long horn blast
suspends all play. If a student sees lightening before hearing a horn, students
are encouraged to seek shelter immediately. You should mark the position of
your ball with a tee and move quickly to the nearest building. (Trees do not
offer you protection from dangerous weather and may become hazardous). The
Top50jrTour makes every effort to complete rounds the same day. If weather
conditions or course conditions prohibit the completion of the round, the
Tour Director has the right to alter the number of holes determining the
stipulated round which may include only nine holes.
RAINOUT POLICY:
If a qualifying round is cancelled due to severe weather, the players for
the subsequent tournament round will be determined by a blind draw. The participants
drawn to play in the tournament round will earn scholarship points as per usual,
however they will not earn player of the year points since the participants
are determined by blind draw instead of playing ability. Players whose name
did not get drawn to play in the tournament round will receive a refund. The
amount of the refund will be determined by the amount of the expenses incurred
during the qualifying round. Refunds will be distributed 10 business days
after the end of the season.
If a tournament round is cancelled due to severe weather, all players including exempt players must
re-qualify at the next qualifying round to be eligible for the following tournament round. (No refunds
provided, golf was free.)
Providing False Information:
If it is discovered that any individual or group of individuals have provided false information during the
registration process they will forfeit all scholarship funds and be immediately removed from the tour.
Dress Code:
No T-shirts, blue jeans or denim allowed, boys must wear a collared shirt
or turtleneck and the shirt must be tucked in. Shorts for both boys and girls,
must be no higher than 4" from
the knee. Final discretion lies with the starter at the host facility, so please
dress appropriately.
Unacceptable Behavior:
As a member of the Top50jrTour you are a guest at each facility we play and
you represent the qualities of the Top50jrTour. Please be courteous and respectful
at all times. Club throwing, profanity and behavior that is not respectful
of your fellow competitors and staff will not be tolerated. Each occurrence
will be ruled on its own situation and may result in penalty strokes for the first occurrence, with a suspension, loss of
all playing privileges, loss of any accumulated scholarship funds or all
of the above for any additional occurrences. The final decision will be made by the tour official and the
course Golf Professional.
Cancellation Policy:
If a player must cancel from a Qualifying Round he/she must do
so at least
(7) days prior to the scheduled Qualifier in order to receive a
$55 refund. You can cancel online by clicking
'member / registration,' by sending an
email to tourdirector@top50jrtour.com
or by calling 248-321-9900. If a player must cancel and it is within
(7) days of the Qualifier the player must still call and notify
us that he/she is unable to play in order to receive a partial
$25 refund. Be sure to leave a message if there
is no answer. If a player
must cancel from a Tournament Round that player must notify us
ASAP
so that we can fill that spot. Failure to notify a tour official
of a cancellation, Qualifying Round or Tournament Round, will result
in the player being suspended from the next week's Qualifying Round.

written request for a refund and must be accompanied with a physician's
note. All refunds are distributed (10) business days after the
end
