About the Tour
The Top50jrTour
The Midwest's Top50jrTour is a new competitive golfing experience exclusively
for junior golfers age 12 to 19.
The primary goal of this student golf program is to provide numerous competitive
playing opportunities and scholarship awards to several deserving Midwest
Junior Golfers
who have the desire to attend college. The opportunity to be awarded scholarship
points exists each time you qualify
for a tournament round. The tour is designed to encourage and enhance the playing
ability of junior
golfers while at the same time recognizing and awarding hundreds of the Midwest's
Junior Golfers.
Golf Format:
- Each event consists of a qualifying round and a tournament round. Students
participate in an 18-hole open Qualifying Round to determine the Top50 students
to play in the 18-hole Tournament Round. Each week 50 students qualify to
play FREE competitive tournament golf.
Qualifying Rounds:
- A player may play in as many qualifying rounds as they wish. Qualifying
rounds are limited to 150 players, first come first serve basis. (You
may download your application at player
membership / registration).
- The entry fee per qualifying round is $55. This includes the cost of golf,
lunch and a competitive tournament experience for each player.
- Fifty (50) qualifying positions are available at the season's first qualifier.
Forty (40) qualifying positions are available at each qualifier thereafter.
(10 players are exempt each week)
Tournament Rounds:
- If you qualified at the weekly Qualifying Round there is no cost to play
in the Tournament Round.
The Tournament Round Is Free!
- Any player finishing in the top (10) of the Tournament Round is exempt from qualifying and earns a position in the next Tournament Round. Failure to finish in the top ten would mean a player would have to attempt to re-qualify at the next qualifier. Refer to the Top50jrTour rules regarding the exemption of the top ten.
- Scholarship points are awarded to several players of each Tournament Round.
- Bonus Scholarship points are awarded to several deserving players at the
end of the season. To determine the player of the year, points are
awarded to each player based upon how they finished in the Tournament
Round (chart below). Player of the year awards: Boys
15 & under / Boys 16 & over / Girls 15 and under / Girls 16 & over
Player of the year points are awarded to every student participating in the tournament round with 50 points awarded to the leading player in each division, 49 points awarded to the second player in each division, 48 points awarded to the third player in each division, and so on.
